MATTHEWS, N.C. (Saturday, July 11, 2026) - Crown Legacy FC fell at home for the first time this season to New York City FC II in a 3-0 contest at Mecklenburg County Sportsplex on Saturday night.
New York found two goals early in the match, striking in just the seventh minute. An errant pass out of the back resulted in forward Seymour Reid recovering the ball at the edge of the penalty area. He wound up for a shot that found its way to the bottom left corner of goal.
Minutes later in the 14th minute, midfielder Baye Coulibaly fouled Sebastiano Musu as the last defender, with the referee pointing to the penalty spot and showing a red card as a result. Cooper Flax took the penalty for NYC and converted by sending it to the lower left corner.
NYC found a third goal in the 30th minute thanks to Adonic Campos. After recycling the ball after a corner kick, Flax found Campos waiting right outside the 18-yard-box, who sent in a shot to the right side of net to give New York a 3-0 lead before halftime.
Crown Legacy FC wraps up its three-match homestand on Saturday, July 18 against Chicago Fire FC II. Kickoff at Mecklenburg County Sportsplex is set for 7:00 p.m. ET and admission to the match is free.
