MATTHEWS, N.C. (Friday, June 5, 2026) - Crown Legacy FC beat Philadelphia Union II 1-0 on Saturday night at Mecklenburg County Sportsplex. Forward Nathan Richmond scored his fourth goal of the year, his 12 goal contribution, while goalkeeper Lazar Kaličanin kept his first clean sheet of the year.
Crown Legacy struck in just the sixth minute after crisp buildup from the back opened up an opportunity for the home side. After receiving the ball from his backline, Baye Coulibaly faked his defender in the midfield and launched a pass to Richmond making a breakaway run on the right flank, who cut inside and sent a shot rolling to the far post and over the goal line.
In the 75th minute, Academy midfielder Sebastian Ventura corralled a lofted pass just outside the 18-yard-box before being sandwiched between two Union defenders and drawing a foul on Finn Sundstrom, his second of the match.
Crown Legacy FC kicks off a three match road trip next Saturday when the squad travels to take on in-state rivals Carolina Core FC. Kickoff at Truist Point is set for 8:00 p.m. ET and the match can be streamed on OneFootball or MLSNEXTPro.com.
