NORTH YORK, Ontario (Sunday, April 12, 2026) - Crown Legacy FC played Toronto FC II to a 3-3 draw at York Lions Stadium on Sunday afternoon. CLFC walked away with an extra point following a 3-1 victory in the penalty shootout, led by Quinn Syrett making back-to-back saves. Homegrown forward Nimfasha Berchimas notched a brace while captain Hugo Mbongue tallied his third goal of the season.
Crown Legacy conceded a penalty in the seventh minute when Daniel Longo's challenge in the box tripped up a Toronto attacker. Jahmarie Nolan converted the attempt by sending his shot right up the middle of goal.
CLFC found an equalizer in the 17th minute thanks to Berchimas, who collected the ball on the left flank before getting a shot off that took a deflection off a defender on the way to the back post.
Berchimas completed his brace in the 22nd minute to put CLFC ahead. Winger Nathan Richmond carried the ball up the middle of the pitch on a counter, finding the forward cutting in on the left flank, who slotted a right-footed shot past Toronto's keeper.
Nolan claimed a brace of his own in the 35th minute when he picked off a misplaced pass from Jack Neeley near the 18-yard-box, finding an open opportunity to bring things level at two apiece.
In the 64th minute, Longo looked to collect a pass near the center of the box, but was tripped by his defender, drawing a penalty for CLFC. Captain Hugo Mbongue stepped up to the spot and scored after sending his shot to the bottom left corner.
Toronto equalized again in the 84th minute after Fletcher Bank hit a one-time strike with his right foot just outside the box, sending a powerful shot to the upper right corner of goal.
Syrett opened the penalty shootout by making back-to-back saves on Bank and Markus Cimermancic, diving to his left and right on their respective attempts. Mbongue and midfielders Erik Peña and Andrej Subotić all converted their attempts for Crown Legacy, sending the Club home with two points in the standings.
Crown Legacy FC returns home on Saturday, April 18, when the Club hosts Chattanooga FC. Kickoff at Mecklenburg County Sportsplex is set for 7:00 p.m. and admission to the match is free.
