Crown Legacy FC Announces 2024 Regular Season Schedule

CLFC tickets are on sale now as the Club looks to return to the MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs

CHARLOTTE, NC (Thursday, February 8, 2024) – Crown Legacy FC and MLS NEXT Pro today announced the league’s 2024 schedule.

CLFC will again kick off its season at home against new in-state rivals Carolina Core FC on Sunday, March 17 at 5 p.m. at Mecklenburg County Sportsplex in Matthews. For tickets to Crown Legacy FC’s home opener, click here.

Crown Legacy FC will play 28 matches, 14 home and 14 away, moving to the Southeast Division in 2024. The Club will play its divisional opponents three times, with the rest of the schedule against other Eastern Conference teams.

All home matches will continue to be at Mecklenburg County Sportsplex in Matthews which won the 2023 Field of the Year Award from the Sports Field Management Association.

Along with Carolina Core FC, the Club will also face another new regional rival, Chattanooga FC who joins MLS NEXT Pro after three seasons in the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA). The first match against Chattanooga FC will be on at home on Wednesday, May 15 at 7:30 p.m.

Other notable matches include a rematch of the 2023 Eastern Conference Semifinals against Columbus Crew 2 on Sunday, March 24 at 3 p.m. at home, and the Club’s first trip to High Point, NC to take on Carolina Core FC on Saturday, July 13 at 7 p.m.

The majority of CLFC matches will be available live and on-demand on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app including Crown Legacy’s home opener against Carolina Core FC and Decision Day match against Toronto FC II on Sunday, October 6. The remainder of regular season matches will stream live on mlsnextpro.com.

In 2024, MLS NEXT Pro will also make updates to its playoff structure. This season, eight teams from each conference will qualify for the postseason and there will no longer be a first-round bye for the top seeds. The league will bring back the popular “pick-your-opponent” format for the first round with the top four seeds in each conference choosing its matchup.
