The 18-Year-old center back becomes the first CLFC signing ahead of the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro Season
CHARLOTTE, NC (Monday, November 20, 2023) – Crown Legacy FC today announced the Club has signed defender Willian Sangoquiza on loan from Ecuadorian Club América de Quito.
CLFC retains an option for permanent transfer following the 2024 season.
“Willian is a young, high-upside center back that has played first team football in multiple positions which highlights his unique skillset for his age,” said Technical Director Bobby Belair. “Under the guidance of the Crown Legacy FC coaching staff, we believe he can make huge strides in his development, and we will be able to evaluate his long-term potential at the Club through this loan. We are excited to welcome Willian to the Club and look forward to him progressing as a professional with Crown Legacy in 2024.”
Sangoquiza earned 14 appearances with América de Quito and netted two goals with the club. He also earned significant minutes with its reserve side.
Primarily a center back, Sangoquiza can also flex into the midfield or play as a right back.
