The two-time America East Goalkeeper of the Year joins the MLS NEXT Pro club ahead of Inaugural Season

Charlotte, NC (Thursday, February 2, 2023)- Crown Legacy FC today announced the Club has signed goalkeeper Nate Silveira after a decorated collegiate career at Vermont.

“Nate played an immense role in what Vermont were able to achieve over the last few college seasons,” said Crown Legacy FC Goalkeeper Coach Brian Edwards. “Entering our inaugural season his leadership and competitive nature will be an asset within the environment. He is a welcomed addition to our Goalkeeping group and know that, with the right mindset, he can achieve great things.”

Silveira, 22, comes to the Carolinas after five seasons at the University of Vermont where he was dominate between the posts. As a Catamount, Silveira was the first player in program history to earn America East Goalkeeper of the Year in back-to-back seasons (2021-22). In those same seasons, the Providence native was named First Team all-conference and the United Soccer Coaches All-Northeast Second and Third Team.

Additionally, Silveira was a captain for two seasons at Vermont while also earning 2021 America East All-Championship Team when the Catamounts won the conference title. Silveira finished his final season of his collegiate career ranked eighth in the country in clean sheets and minutes played.

Prior to joining Vermont, Silveira spent one season at Dean College where he allowed only seven goals and was named 2017 NECC Goalkeeper of the Year.
