CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Wednesday, February 25, 2026) — Crown Legacy FC today announced the signing of Canadian midfielder Daniel Longo to an MLS NEXT Pro contract through the 2026 season, with Club options through June 30, 2029. Longo most recently featured with the UNCG Spartans and Canisius University.

“We are happy to add Daniel into our midfield group this season after being impressed with his quality performances for UNCG,” said Charlotte FC Assistant General Manager Bobby Belair. “Daniel’s ability to cover ground, distribute the ball, and play across different positions in the midfield will be a valuable addition to our squad for the 2026 season. His progression through the collegiate ranks shows his mentality to improve and desire to develop into a good professional.”

Longo, 21, competed with UNCG for the 2024 and 2025 seasons, making 40 appearances, all but one being starts, and adding one goal and seven assists. He helped the Spartans to a 2024 SoCon Regular Season Co-Champion title and was named to the All-SoCon Second Team in the same year. Prior to his time in Greensboro, Longo began his collegiate career with Canisius University where he spent two years, scoring four goals and notching one assist across 31 matches.
