MATTHEWS, N.C. (Friday, May 22, 2026) - Crown Legacy FC played New England Revolution II to a 2-2 draw at Mecklenburg County Sportsplex on Friday night. New England walked away with an extra point after a 4-3 shootout victory. Defenders Andrew Johnson and Ashton Kamdem each found the back of the net in regulation, with winger Nathan Richmond adding to his MLS NEXT Pro leading assist tally, bringing his total to eight on the year.
New England struck first off a set piece in the 15th minute when forward Jacob Johnson found an opening through the defense by following up his own shot he had just taken that ricocheted off a CLFC defender.
CLFC brought things level in the 30th minute, converting off a corner kick. Forward Nathan Richmond whipped in a left-footed ball to the six-yard box for Ashton Kamdem to find and tap over the line.
New England regained the lead just two minutes later when Myles Morgan placed himself on the back post on a counter attack, striking a pass sent in by Carlos Zambrano that slipped beyond the reach of Isaac Walker.
Just one minute into the second half, Emmanuel Uchegbu recovered a ball just outside the penalty area, but New England defender Allan Oyirwoth went in for a hard challenge with his studs up on Uchegbu's ankle, which saw him off for the rest of the contest.
Richmond again left his mark on the match when in the 76th minute the winger whipped a pinpoint cross directly to the back post for Andrew Johnson to head over the line.
The two sides traded successful attempts until New England's Donovan Parisian met the shots of Adrian Mendoza and Daniel Longo to give the visitors the edge.
Crown Legacy FC returns to action on Friday, June 5 when the Club hosts Philadelphia Union II. Kickoff at Mecklenburg County Sportsplex is set for 7:00 p.m. ET and admission to the match is free.
