Every type of success or measure of Black Excellence started with a dream. Charlotte Football club brings together Black community leaders to share their personal declaration of what it means to be excellent and how they achieved success in the Carolinas.

A vision and design has been manifested in special edition jersey numbers that will be worn by Charlotte FC in their match the week of Juneteenth to celebrate the Black culture and community of the Carolinas. The artwork for these numbers was designed by local community member, Mike Jones.

MEET MIKE JONES

Mike Jones is an artist that specializes in Photography, Design, & Storytelling; whose creativity is immersed within community and passion for the arts. From Raleigh, North Carolina but currently resides in Charlotte, NC, this local designer/photographer created a celebration of Black Excellence in the Carolinas by mixing his inspiration with art design.

Join us for a morning 5K with Mad miles run club that will end at a Black-owned business pop up. Dance along to the sounds of DJ Fannie Mae. Support local food trucks, apparel, jewelry, artwork, and more! Celebrate community, culture, and Black Excellence with Charlotte Football Club.

Charlotte Football Club is committed to positively impacting our communities across the Carolinas through the shared love of soccer. We are excited to be a sponsor of the play zone for the upcoming Durag festival at Camp North End. We have collaborated with Uptown Football Club to host a one-day soccer tournament, the winner will receive a grand prize that will include CLTFC swag & tickets to the Black Excellence Theme Night Match that evening.

Durag Festival is an annual celebration to celebrate, reflect and foster innovation and creativity throughout the african diaspora. Durag Festival celebrates Black music, art, fashion, and culture while elevating Black creators and community. Durag Festival is hosted during Juneteenth to commemorate its significance of freedom and expression.
