After some midweek action in Toronto, The Crown returns to the Queen City for a Saturday night matchup with D.C. United.Â
It’s the first meeting of the season between the two sides, with Charlotte back at home for Kids Rule Night. The evening will feature special activations throughout the match, including a limited number of Sir Minty Pillow Plushes available for pickup towards the end of the night.
A Familiar Foe
While this will be the first meeting between Charlotte and D.C. this season, the two sides have plenty of history.
The Crown is unbeaten in its last five regular-season meetings with D.C. United and owns a 5W-2L-1D all-time regular-season record against the club. Charlotte will look to extend that unbeaten run on Saturday as it begins a stretch that puts two Eastern Conference rivals on the schedule.
D.C. enters the matchup looking to bounce back from a 0-3 loss to New England on Wednesday, bringing its 2026 regular-season record to 5W-6L-9D.
Forward Tai Baribo leads the club with 12 goals this season, while defenders Keisuke Kurokawa and Silvan Hefti are tied for the team lead in assists with four apiece.
Finding the Right Mix
Charlotte’s midfield has continued to see different combinations throughout the season, with Brandt Bronico, Luca de la Torre, and Djibril Diani each earning starts alongside Captain Ashley Westwood across the Club’s last three matches.
The wings offer another area of competition, with Allan Saint-Maximin available after a dangerous showing in Toronto, Rodolfo Aloko coming off two goal contributions across his last two matches, and Liel Abada providing another attacking option out wide.
Pep Biel’s status is also worth watching. The Midfielder has scored three goals against the opposition, but his availability this weekend remains unknown.
Home Sweet Home
Charlotte owns a 43W-17L-18D all-time regular-season record on home soil, and the atmosphere inside Bank of America Stadium has consistently made it a difficult place for opponents to play. The energy from the crowd continues to give The Crown an extra boost, and Saturday’s Kids Rule Night should bring another lively atmosphere to the Queen City
