The Crown will host South Georgia Tormenta FC after reaching the Round of 16 in the competition last season
DATE CONFIRMED: Charlotte FC to Play Third Round of 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S Open Cup on Tuesday, April 25
Charlotte, NC (Thursday, April 6, 2023) – Charlotte FC was today drawn against South Georgia Tormenta FC in the Third Round of the 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
The match will be played at the Mecklenburg County Sportsplex at Matthews with the date and kickoff time scheduled to be announced on April 7th. Tickets are now on sale and are $15 for Charlotte FC Season Ticket Members and $25 for the general public. Season Ticket Members will receive an exclusive code via email for the discounted rate.
Last season, Charlotte FC defeated USL League One sides Greenville Triumph SC and the Richmond Kickers before falling to the New York Red Bulls in the Round of 16.The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, U.S. Soccer’s National Championship, is an annual knockout competition open to all amateur and professional soccer teams affiliated with U.S. Soccer. The tournament first crowned an annual champion at the end of the 1913-14 season. In 1999, the competition was renamed to honor American soccer pioneer Lamar Hunt.
