Charlotte FC will be missing some key players this upcoming weekend in the match against the New York Red Bulls because of international duty. Specifically, four: Karol Świderski, Kamil Jóźwiak, Alan Franco, and Christian Makoun.

Some have been with their national teams for over a week while others just arrived. So let’s look at what they’ve been up to so far...

Karol Świderski and Kamil Jóźwiak

Swiderski joined up with the Poland National Team following the Vancouver Whitecaps match a little over two weeks ago while Jóźwiak arrived a week later. In that time, Poland has had two Nations League matches; one against Wales and the other against Belgium.

Against Wales, Swiderski came in as a substitute in the 73rd minute and provided the game winning goal in the 85th minute. And neither Świderski nor Jóźwiak made an appearance in Poland’s 6 – 1 loss against Belgium.

Next for the Poles is the Netherlands on June 11th and a rematch against Belgium on June 14th.

Alan Franco

For the Ecuadorian National Team, Franco has thus far only made a late appearance against Mexico. Ecuador has one more friendly match this international window against Cape Verde on June 11th.

Christian Makoun

Makoun arrived late at his international camp but was in the squad against Saudi Arabia.
