French winger tallied two assists in road victory over Atlanta United FC; win marks four straight road victories over ATL
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Monday, August 31, 2026) – Charlotte FC forward Allan Saint-Maximin was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 23 following Charlotte’s 2-0 victory over southern rivals Atlanta United FC this past Saturday.
The Crown extended its MLS regular-season unbeaten run to four, having gone unbeaten in seven of the last nine matches coming out of the World Cup break, and sits in fifth place in the Eastern Conference. Charlotte tallied its fourth-straight away victory over Atlanta, bringing CLTFC’s all-time record away from home in the series to 4-1-0 with a +5 goal differential (12 GF / 7 GA).
On Saturday, Saint-Maximin helped set up the match-winning goal in the 22nd minute after blowing past his defender on the left wing and picking out Pep Biel waiting on the far post. The Spaniard met the ball with a sliding touch, centering it for forward Idan Toklomati who sent it over the goal line with a one-time left-footed finish.
The winger’s dazzling dribbling doubled Charlotte’s lead coming out of the halftime break as Saint-Maximin laid off a pass to Liel Abada on the right flank who took a touch inside before curling a shot into the upper left corner of goal and securing the victory for Charlotte FC.
