With his start on the road for Charlotte FC against the Chicago Fire, defender Adilson Malanda made his 100th appearance for The Crown.

Before training, Malanda, along with Captain Ashley Westwood, were honored with framed jerseys commemorating their milestone moment for the Club.

The French defender arrived in Charlotte on August 4, 2022 from Ligue 2 side Rodez AF, where he made 35 appearances.

In his 100 appearances, Malanda has tallied two goals and one assist. The two goals came in the season openers in the 2024 and 2025 season, respectively.

Last season, Malanda helped anchor a backline that allowed the fewest regular season goals in the Eastern Conference and second-fewest in the entire league. His efforts also played a part in propelling Kristijan Kahlina to a career-high in clean sheets and a MLS Goalkeeper of the Year award.

On July 11, 2024, he signed a new contract with the Club that exteneded him through the 2026 season with a Club option for 2027.

"This is a Club that is perfect for my development as a professional footballer, and it’s the right place for me right now in my career," said Malanda after signing his new contract.
