A chaotic and frenetic match up north resulted in a 3-3 draw between Charlotte FC and Toronto FC.

Rodolfo Aloko started on the right wing and scored the game’s first goal in the 8th minute. Ashley Westwood took advantage of a lackadaisical pass by Toronto FC goalkeeper Luka Gavran. Westwood then dealt the ball to Aloko, who absolutely smashed it past Gavran to earn his first MLS goal.

Toronto equalized in the 14th minute. Toronto midfielder Markus Cimermancic snuck in a strike from outside the penalty box to get the hosts on the board.

It was a short-lived lead for Toronto, as Charlotte jumped back in front less than 10 minutes later. Aloko drove into the box and produced a neat pass for Liel Abada. While Abada’s effort was denied, his striker Idan Toklomati was in prime position to finish the chance, which is exactly what he did.

A reckless challenge in the 56th minute by Walker Zimmerman warranted a red card against Toronto and reduced the hosts to 10 men.

Immediately after the red card was given, defender Henry Kessler knocked in a third goal for Charlotte off a header.

Despite playing with a disadvantage, Toronto kept fighting. Dániel Sallói knocked in a second goal for Toronto in the 77th minute to make it a 2-3 game.

Then, in the 90th minute, Toronto equalized through Niklas Dorsch.

Charlotte had a few opportunities to win the game late on but it was not to be.
