Charlotte FC refused to let a bit of rain dampen their spirits in an impressive 1-0 victory over New England Revolution. Behind an energetic crowd at Bank of America Stadium, The Crown prevailed to win a second-straight game at home.

Striker Idan Toklomati opened the scoring in the 16th minute, which proved to be the decisive goal in the contest.
Defender Will Cleary, who was making his first MLS start, delivered a beautiful ball into the box for Toklomati. Toklomati then delivered a tidy finish at the back post to put Charlotte in front.

Later in the first half, an alert and responsive save by goalkeeper Kristijan Kahlina denied New England on a free kick attempt to keep the lead intact.

The second half featured a bit of drama.

The hosts were reduced to 10 men in the 58th minute after defender David Schnegg incurred a second yellow card after already being booked in the first half.

While Charlotte remained in control for the majority of the second half, the visitors had real chances to equalize in the final minutes. Kahlina made two tremendous saves in consecutive fashion in stoppage time to preserve the victory.

Up next for The Crown is... Rest!

Charlotte FC, along with the rest of MLS, will take a mid-season break coinciding with the World Cup. The Crown's first match back will be at Bank of America Stadium against Atlanta United FC on July 22nd.
